Summer Beach Skills

Ready to take your beach volleyball skills to the next level? Join us for our newest Skills and Drills Program led by none other than James Battiston, highly popular PCV skills coach and former member of the National Beach Volleyball Team!

Whether you’re new to beach volleyball or a seasoned player, we have something for you!  Join us at the RA Centre on Saturday mornings where James will bring his expert guidance to teach you fundamentals or take you to the next level with specific skills.

  • When? Saturdays, 10 AM - noon (June 1, June 15, June 29, July 13)

    • June 1st – Fundamentals

Here we will cover the basics of 2 on 2 beach volleyball. Serve receive (1st contact), setting (2nd contact), attacking (shot options), defense (block/dig) and service. The goal is to make you feel more comfortable on the sand.

    • June 15th - Reception/Side out

For this session, we will focus on serve receive to attack. We will work on passing/setting and attack strategies. We will also do game situation drills to help provide live feedback.

    • June 29th - Serve/Defence

These sessions will work on Block/Defense techniques. We will work on reading the first two contacts to better set up your defense to counterattack.

    • July 13 - Strategy/Gameplay

An all-encompassing session that works on strategies for getting your opponents to do what you want them to do. We will work on creating a serve/defensive strategy that funnels the defense to work with your strengths.

On serve receive, we will work on creating the best situation for a successful side out.
